What is the Bandon Crab Derby?
We will take over 100 Dungeness crabs and attach numbered brass tags to them, and then throw the Dungeness crabs into the Coquille River near the public docks in Old Town Bandon. (For more rules and regulations)
People crabbing that catch these tagged crabs then have to bring the tagged crab to Tony’s Crab Shack to be verified, we then collect the brass tag to be used in our drawings.
The more tagged crabs you catch and bring to us the better your chances are to win a prize.
We will have 4 drawings worth $100.00 dollars each!
July 12th & July 26th and August 9th & August 23rd. You must be present for these 4 drawings to win.
We will draw up to three tags and if there is no winner the money will become an extra drawing on August 31st
We also have other great prizes like Jet boat rides and crabbing gear in addition to the cash.
The BIG drawings are on August 31st
The first drawing is for $1000.00 dollars if you are present, if you are not present you get $750.00.
The second drawing is for $300.00 if you are present, if you are not present you get $150.00
Why did we create the Bandon Crab Derby?
We would like to see more fun events in Bandon that locals and tourists alike will have fun
doing
and at the same time help promote a healthy business atmosphere in all of Bandon.
Last year’s Grand prize winner ($1000.00) was Gary Brink from Bandon!
Also Terry Tiffany & Eileen Diaz from Bandon won $100.00 cash each.
The Bandon Crab Derby was created by Dave & Eileen Schradieck owners of
